What are people doing?

Image

I have been getting great emails explaining what people are doing to be kind in their neighbourhoods. This post will enable to start to document some of those things.

I find that some people find it really hard to tell what they are up to, they feel that it should be kept a private experience.  In many ways I agree, there is a special joy that comes with keeping that to yourself. So why am I posting these,  to help others, to inspire others to be kind.  To give examples… and I am sure that just reading them you will think… yes I could easily do that.  I am a kind person!

  • Been helping a lady…she used to volunteer in our Foodcare operation when I running it. She’s just had 3 surgeries for melanoma and then the real estate told her she had 2 weeks to move for the shed she runs her op shop from. It was set up to give intellectually challenged kids a retail work experience opportunity. I’ve been helping her shut it down, distribute the contents of the shop to other charities.
  • Offered transport to old couple who car was being service @ my mechanic. Long walk to the bank to get cash so they could have lunch whilst waiting for their car to be finished. Took the lady to the bank and back to the mechanic.
  • Offered transport to fellow worker at Bunnings whose lift had let him down
  • Connected young Mum and teen to a church youth group. Helped same Mum thru Bunnings application process.
  • Gave a few lifts to people standing @ bus stops in the wind and rain
  • Driving a guy to his appointment 100kms away.
  • Buying morning tea for 3’workmates
  • Gave away a heap of strawberry plants to a young couple who are starting a garden
  • Encouraged a young girl…her first day on the job at Maccas.

Thats a start, I will continue to pass on the kindness, as it is a great thing to do.  I should also share one more important act of kindness that this person shared:

Today..I did nothing. Sorry. Had a me day.

This one is an act of kindness to ourselves.  We need these me days.   Have a great day.
